Club Hockey

Our Travel Program is for kids looking to develop as hockey players. Travel players will get more ice time throughout the season than Recreational players.

Ages

This program is for players who turn 9 during this calendar year up to players who turn 14 this year. Players who turn 8 this year are allowed to try out for this program but must be placed on an A2 or higher team to play up.

When

Registration will open in June and close in Mid August. Evaluations are held in August. Practices begin in the first week after Labor Day and your season runs until the middle of March. Games typically start at the end of September and the league season ends with the playoffs in late February.

Where

Your practices and home games will be played at the RecPlex in St. Peters, Wentzville Ice Arena, and occasionally at other ice complexes.

Practices

Each player gets 2-4 ice times each week that are used for practices and home games. We do not run a set schedule, so you can practice any day of the week. Practices typically no earlier than 5:15 on weekdays. Skills session practices with our Skills instructor are also included in your practice allocation above.

Games

Teams in this program play full-ice games. Missouri Hockey League is comprised of area teams and will require your team to play Declaration Games to determined which League Level your team is placed. The Missouri Hockey League determines also how many games you will play. Typically, your team will play approximately 4 Declaration games and 12-18 season league games. Missouri Hockey can place both our Travel and Recreational Teams in the same league. Your team may also vote to participate in both local and travel tournaments to pick up additional games. Refer to the Tournaments link under our Resources tab for additional details on the tournament policy.

Jerseys

Players in this program must purchase our club jerseys. You can find more information about jerseys under Resources.

Additional Costs

Your Team Manager will be required to maintain a team bank account to cover expenses such as tournament cost, referee fees, travel permits and coaching registrations. At the start of the season each family will be asked for a deposit to get that account started. The amount varies by team, but it is typically around $100.
