Exciting Announcement: St. Peter’s Hockey to Apply for Prospects Division Teams!
With the recent announcement from the Central States Developmental League regarding a proposed expansion of the Prospects Division, St. Peter’s Hockey is excited to share that we intend to apply for Prospects teams at the Bantam, Peewee, and Squirt levels for the upcoming season.
These teams will compete in both the Missouri Hockey A1 Division and the Chicago Prospects Division. These will be the ONLY A1 teams offered by St. Peter’s Hockey for the 2025-26 season.
Cost Structure:
Base cost will remain the same as our club-level teams.
Additional league and referee fees will be managed through a team fund.
These supplemental costs are expected to be on par with what teams usually spend on tournaments during the season (based on amount of additional league games).
Why Prospects?
Central States Prospects is a high-quality league offering strong competition.
Limited travel—typically just a couple of weekends in Chicago.
No need for additional tournaments to find competitive games.
This is a fantastic opportunity for families to access higher-level hockey while staying within the Missouri Hockey system and maintaining cost-effective participation.
Important Missouri Hockey Rule Change:
To be eligible for an A1/Prospects team, players must attend the AA Central States pod tryouts.
For St. Peter’s families, that means attending the Sting AA tryouts scheduled for June 15–25.
Players not selected for the Sting AA teams will be invited to attend A1/Prospects team tryouts on June 29–30 at no additional cost.
This is a Missouri Hockey rule and is required for eligibility.
We are extremely excited to offer this opportunity to our membership and believe it’s a great pathway for development, exposure, and competitive hockey—without significantly increasing costs.
